Hip & Gluteal Stretches

 
     
 

Stretches should be a gentle pull and should not cause pain.  If you experience any difficulty or discomfort with any stretch, please discontinue the stretch. Perform stretches daily, as directed.

 
     
     
 
Gluteus Medius Stretch    
Gluteus Medius Stretch
 

Lie on your side as shown. Allow upper leg to fall towards the floor till you feel a stretch.

Hold each stretch 10 seconds then switch sides.

 
     
     
     
   
Supine Piriformis Stretch    
Hip & Gluteal Stretches
 

Cross legs with hip to be stretched on top. With hands clasped under knee as shown, gently pull knees toward chest until a stretch is felt in the hip.

Hold 15 seconds and switch legs.
